The VascuSynth dataset contains 10 groups of data, each group is composed of 12 volumetric images with bifurcation numbers ranging from 1 to 56. All images are saved in MetaImage format, with bifurcation locations, vessel radii, and tree-connectivity recorded in mat files.VascuSynth, short for Vascular Synthesizer, is an algorithm and accompanying software for synthesizing 3D vascular or other tubular, tree-like structures. The main goal is to provide 3D datasets with ground truth that can assist in validating 3D image segmentation and analysis methods.Related publications:Ghassan Hamarneh, Preet Jassi, "VascuSynth: Simulating vascular trees for generating volumetric image data with ground-truth segmentation and tree analysis", Computerized Medical Imaging and Graphics - December 2010 (Vol. 34, Issue 8, Pages 605-616) (PDF)Preet Jassi and Ghassan Hamarneh, "VascuSynth: Vascular Tree Synthesis Software", Insight Journal, 2011, pp 1-12 (PDF)
